Hang Dau Water Tower
Add collectionContact Information
Hang Dau Water Tower is a nearly 130-year-old structure built in 1894, before Long Bien Bridge, located at the junction of Hang Than, Hang Comb, Hang Giay, Hang Dau, Quan Thanh and Phan Dinh Phung streets.
The tower is designed to resemble a three-storey fortress, with a circular cylindrical body and a conical pyramidal corrugated iron roof. Around the water tower is surrounded by a perforated stone wall of 54 narrow doorways and as high as apricot holes. The entrance gate of the tower was installed with two doors in the style of decoration in works in France at that time. The tower is compared by many to the blockhouse, so it is often called the Hang Dau Tank.
The inside of the water tower has just been renovated into an art space with two key installations. It is a sound installation that recreates the sound of water in nature and a light installation that visually expands the image of artifacts recycled from municipal waste.

This was such a fun and beautiful experience. I definitely recommend it if you're heading over to Vietnam. Book early online or have your tour guide do it for you.
