I was worried the decor would be baroque to the extreme, but although there s plenty of bling it was tastefully done and this is a wonderful hotel.
The rooms are lavishly appointed; frette bedding and Aqua di parma toiletries and a Japanese toilet. My room also had a spectacular view of the city from the wraparound windows. There s a decent gym next to the outdoor pool.
Ordered a steak through room service and it was tasty and cooked well, and the breakfast buffet had a good selection of high quality products. Great choice of juices including whole coconuts but sadly there was no mango at the fruit bar. If i had to be picky the pastries were average at best and the taste overall was decent but not amazing. I had lunch at the Long and the food was very disappointing. The service overall however was excellent.
One minor recurring issue was that some taxis and grab drivers had no idea where the hotel driveway entrance was. For anyone considering this against the Park Hyatt, the PH has better food and understated elegance, but the Reverie s rooms are plusher and the views can be fabulous. The decor however is probably more suited to younger generations - the lifts wouldnt be out of place in a nightclub. Having said that you cant really go wrong staying here, it will pleasantly surprise you so don t hesitate if you think its all a bit gaudy.
