Ban Khay, Chi Vien border commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang has more than 4ha of chestnut cultivation. These chestnut orchards are located right on the connecting route from Trung Khanh Town to Ban Gioc Waterfall, convenient for visitors' sightseeing itinerary.
In addition to experiencing with people harvesting and processing dishes from chestnuts, visitors are also introduced to many other local specialties, including dishes made from Trung Khanh chestnuts such as chestnut cake, sticky rice, chestnut nuggets, chestnut legs stew... Visitors can also sip a glass of wine made from chestnuts and enjoy the typical singing performances of the Tay - Nung people here. In addition, visitors can admire and take souvenir photos with the 120-year-old chestnut tree, Vietnamese Heritage tree right in Ban Khay village. The harvest season for ripe chestnuts is in late autumn, early winter, October and November.
