Ban Gioc Waterfall is known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam, the largest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia and the fourth largest waterfall in the world among waterfalls located on a border.
Ban Gioc Waterfall is more than 60m high with the longest slope of 30m, divided into many successive limestone layers and spreading up to hundreds of meters. In the middle of the falls there is a large mound covered with trees, dividing the river into three different tributaries. At the foot of the waterfall are the green houses and fields of the Nung and Tay ethnic people. Ban Gioc Waterfall is about 100km from Cao Bang center, so you can get here by bus or motorbike.

Dit was het eerste gebied dat ik bezocht in het noorden van vietnam en het heeft me positief verrast! Cao Bang is een prachtig gebied met veel platteland en rijstvelden. De waterval aan de grens van China was zeker een hoogtepunt voor mij. De wegen zijn in goede staat en prima te doen voor beginners. We hadden een goede tourguide die me veel tips heeft gegeven om te rijden in de bergen. Er wordt goed gelet op veiligheid, het landschap was indrukwekkend en al met al was dit een geweldige ervaring die ik niet had willen missen!
