Built more than 200 years ago, Tan Ky ancient house is not only the oldest house in Hoi An but also one of the most intact and beautiful ancient houses in Vietnam today. The house has a typical tubular architecture of Hoi An, with a narrow width, great depth, divided into many rooms, each with its own function. The interior of the house gathers very valuable antiques, ceramics, tables and chairs, cabinets, collapses made of precious wood, very sophisticated carving stations, ceramics of famous kilns ... If the façade of the house is a place to open a trading shop, the back is connected to the river pier to serve as a place to export and import goods. Going from the outside to the inside, you will enjoy unique details such as the eyes of the "swirl of yin and yang leaves" on the eyelids, the rows of "fake stacks" like 5-fingered hands or the round stones under the pillars brought back from Thanh Hoa,...

An homage to learning and tradition. We loved wandering through this tranquil complex and learning about Vietnam's rich history.
