Monkey Island is located about 2km from Cat Ba town, about 60km from Hai Phong city center.
The island is also called Cat Dua because it grows many wild pineapple trees. There are more than 20 monkeys living on the island. When visitors visit more, they are more bold, go down to the beach to play and ask for food.
There are two arc-shaped beaches, Cat Dua 1 and Cat Dua 2, where you can avoid the crowded scene. The beaches have food service, holiday bungalows, bathing suit rental, life jackets, kayaks.
You can visit here when exploring Lan Ha Bay for a day.

Ibamos para alla por unos callejones que parecia que no iban a ningun lado, de pronto una terraza enorme llena de vietnamitas. Ningun extranjero a la vista, una carta en vietnamita y un camarero que nos ayudo en el pedido. La comida super bien y el precio aun mejor. Repetiriamos sin duda.

It’s a truly authentic Vietnamese seafood restaurant. Almost all customers are local, no reservation is required. The dishes are generally tasty, yet a bit oily, even the vegetables are fried in pork oil or butter. However, the seafood are all cooked and rest aside. When you order your food and decide how you like it, they will use the cooked seafood to fry or recook. It’s a bit different with my imagination of fresh seafood. But it’s an interesting experience. I recommend the crabs and clams in winter season.
