Dray Nur Waterfall rumbles in the middle of the Central Highlands

Translated by Bing
Dray Nur is the pride of the Central Highlands. Whoever goes far remembers, and when he gets closer, he loves. The sound of the waterfall falling day and night like the power of a thousand reverberated, full of pride and intensity.

Dray Nur is the name of a beautiful waterfall located in Ea Na commune, Krong Ana district, Dak Lak province, about 24km south of the center of Buon Ma Thuot city. Dray Nur Waterfall is a midstream waterfall located in a system of 3 waterfalls: Gia Long - Dray Nur - Dray Sap of the Serepôk river system. From a height of more than 30m, Dray Nur waterfall leans down into the deep river, creating a magical natural picture.

Dray Nur Waterfall is associated with touching legends explaining the name Wife Waterfall. Legend has it that, long ago, in this place, the Serepok River was just a winding stream in the middle of a thousand. Then, there was a couple living in the village who loved each other but could not escape the prohibition from the family. On a cold night, because they were so miserable, the couple jumped into the Serepok River to be together for the rest of their lives. At that time, the river also divided into two branches, bearing two names, Krong Ana River, giving birth to Dray Nur waterfall (Wife waterfall) and Krong No river, giving birth to Dray Sap waterfall (Chong waterfall).

Around Dray Nur Waterfall are small streams that flow and wind through rocky outcrops. Low are purple hyacinths fluttering in the wind. Visitors can visit the scenery around the waterfall and then stop for lunch right at the large rocky outcrops next to the waterfall or stop by to rest at the shacks/huts scattered along the way.

Coming to Dray Nur Waterfall, the first feeling will be a majestic waterfall, white foam, and full of steam, making the scenery around the waterfall poetic. The waterfall has a length of over 250m, a height of over 30m, and a width of about 150m, connecting the two provinces of Dak Lak and Dak Nong. Nature lovers can wander along the trails in the primeval forest, see the thousand-year-old stumps of trees or the roots that hug the large rocks. The million-year-old lava rocks in Dray Nur Waterfall have a prismatic shape quite similar to the stone platforms in the famous Ganh Da Dian scenic spot of Phu Yen.

But the most attractive is not admiring the waterfall but exploring and looking for thrills in the nearly 3,000m2 cave behind the waterfall. Looking at the powerful and rushing water curtain from above, many people shuddered. People can enter the interior of the water pouring down from side to side without getting wet. When standing from inside the cave looking out at the long walls of water surrounding the front, the dim light shone on the strangely shaped rocks. This is one of the different feelings that only Dray Nur can bring to visitors in the days of exploring the majestic Central Highlands, having traveled once is remembered, met once is love.

Every year, the period from March to July is a beautiful time to visit the waterfall. At this time, Dray Nur waterfall divides into many small branches like streams surrounding a main branch and is not as noisy and intense as the waterfall in the rainy season.
