Ba Be Lake belongs to Nam Mau commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province. Locals call Ba Be Slam Pé, meaning three lakes. The name comes from the fact that the lake is the gathering place of 3 tributaries of the Pé Lam, Pé Lu and Pé Leng rivers. The lake is 500 hectares wide, has an average depth of 17-23m, the bottom of the lake is covered with a layer of clay 200m thick. Thanks to this layer of clay, water is not drained, forming a lake. Not only is it in the top 20 largest freshwater lakes in the world, since 2004, the lake has also been recognized as an ASEAN heritage garden.
More than 6 hours of driving, the crab road follows the mountains along the river, crabs through simple and rustic villages. Nature wrapped a wide embrace of heaven and earth, wrapping up, creating a separate Three Pools.

A few low-stilt houses are hidden behind dark trees, dark tiled roofs and mixed with the color of the grass. Pac Ngoi village is only about two dozen roofs, most of which have been opened as homestay services (staying with people) for guests. Tall and airy wooden stilt houses with long corridors overlooking open fields and clear blue lakes.
After lunch, we had a relaxing afternoon with the waves of Ba Be. The light motorboat glided on the calm blue lake. A kingfisher suddenly plunged into the lake bed and flapped its wings to shake off the water and flew up right next to the edge of the boat. A few white storks dived in the corner of the green island, feeding in jars. The boats are as slender as the leaves. People in the area live thanks to the source of fish and shrimp fishing on the lake. The blue water penetrates to the bottom, reflecting the shadow of the sun and the shade of the trees, a deep blue covering the surface of the lake. The preservation of environmental hygiene here is carried out carefully. We met quite a few boats carrying tourists back and forth. Most of the guests stayed outside, only visited the lake for one afternoon and then set off to another location.

We spent a few minutes visiting Cam village, a Tay village located in the heart of Ba Be lake. The road to the bamboo shadow village. Each house is quite far away from each other and is located on a high ground. The motorbike is located along a small dirt road because the house still has no way up, so you have to leave the motorbike below and walk up to the house. In the afternoon, a thin fog enveloped the lake and the wind was cold. The sound of buffalo barking followed the children and left. We also hurried down the boat back to the village before the last sun went out on the horizon. The night was quiet in a cool wooden house. A good night's sleep after a day of wandering. The rustling wind lulled us to a peaceful sleep.
In recent years, Ba Be Lake has become a very popular weekend sightseeing and vacation destination for foreign guests. It is a place where you can be in harmony with nature, where there is only the sound of birds singing, the sound of dry leaves rustling under your feet, the sound of the water lapping under the side of the paddle. Where you have real rest.
