From March to April this year, rhododendrons bloom in many northern mountainous areas, especially the bow to the top of West Con Linh, about 40 km from the center of Ha Giang city. Trekking up the mountain at this time, visitors seem to be lost in a fairytale land with rhododendron trees with pink flowers, hidden behind the fog.
Rhododendron trunks that grow naturally in the forest are often surrounded by moss. The higher you go, the thicker and more beautiful the flowers grow.
The new trekking bow, originating from Cao Bo commune, Vi Xuyen - a border mountainous district in Ha Giang province. This road has only been open for about four months, shortening the distance by half compared to going from Hoang Su Phi.
This route is very easy to walk if it is dry, almost anyone can reach the top of West Kunling without spending too much effort. From the edge of the forest to the top is about 6.5 km, the road is gentle, without steep slopes.
Visitors can go back and forth during the day at their leisure. Currently, many rhododendrons are blooming, especially at an altitude of 1,600 - 1,700 m. There are still many buds on the top, which are expected to bloom at the end of March. In the lower area, the flowers fall into a prominent pink carpet in the middle of the forest.
On rainy days, you will be able to admire the strangely beautiful scenery of the Northwest mountains and forests when it is overcast.
Along the way, in addition to azaleas, there is also rich vegetation of tropical primeval forests that are being preserved.
After a hike through the forest, the group reached the geodesic landmark of Tay Con Linh peak at an altitude of 2,428 m. This is the highest peak in the Northeast, known as the 'roof of the Northeast' and is a sacred mountain range of the La Chi ethnic group.
The West Con Linh Range stretches over two districts, Hoang Su Phi and Vi Xuyen, and is popular with people who love trekking and hiking.
