About 120km south of Hanoi, Cuc Phuong National Park is located deep in the heart of the Tam Diep Mountains, stretching over 3 provinces: Thanh Hoa, Hoa Binh and Ninh Binh. 


With an area of 22,408 hectares, mainly primeval forests, Cuc Phuong National Park is preserving an extremely unique forest ecosystem on limestone mountains with the highest biodiversity in Vietnam. Coming here, visitors will be impressed by the large trees that are several hundred to several thousand years old, The diameter of the trunk is several meters, and the height is up to 50 meters. Besides, this place is also home to thousands of types of wild animals, including many rare species such as star deer, pheasant, white-rumped langur... Cuc Phuong is the place where traces of prehistoric fishing dragons were found 200 million years ago.

Weather 


The terrain stretches across 3 provinces in the north of the Central region, the Red River Delta and the Northwest, giving Cuc Phuong National Park a diverse climate change.


From February to April. At this time, the weather is cool and sunny, extremely suitable for sightseeing and exploration activities. You can meet animals such as pheasants, rags... when arriving at this time.


End of April - May: Early summer, considered the most beautiful time to visit Cuc Phuong. This is the time when Cuc Phuong butterfly season begins to bring visitors many new experiences. 


June - August: Cuc Phuong has become an ideal hot spot for tourists. However, this is also a time when there are frequent summer rains, so you need to check the weather information before you start your trip. 


August - October: the time when Cuc Phuong in autumn is the perfect season for jungle and camping. This is also the time when Cuc Phuong is not too crowded, so visitors do not need to worry about jostling.


November - January next year: Chrysanthemum in winter, it becomes cold, the road is relatively difficult, the weather in the primeval forest is relatively complicated, so this is not the right time for you to go to the forest.

Transportation 


There are many different means for you to move to Cuc Phuong National Park. In which, 2 common ways are to travel by private vehicle along National Highway 1A or travel by bus, take the Giap Bat - Nho Quan route, then continue to take a bus from Nho Quan to Cuc Phuong.


Tourist attractions in Cuc Phuong


Besides Cuc Phuong primeval forest, visitors can also explore many other attractive attractions.


Cuc Phuong Botanical Garden

This is a tropical rainforest spot with cool green vegetation and is home to many rare animals, typically the white-rumped langur. This is a place where visitors can admire the hundred-year-old trees in Cuc Phuong such as: 45m high Dang tree, thousand-year-old tree with a diameter of 20 people hugging.


Cave exploration

Silver Cloud Peak

Yen Quang Lake - Pho Ma Cave

To explore Yen Quang Lake, you can follow Nho Quan Street, go to Tri Phuong Bridge and then turn west to reach the lake area. Yen Quang Lake has a large and airy space that will bring visitors interesting relaxation minutes. Continue through Thung La to the foot of the limestone mountain with Pho Ma cave - a magical architectural work of nature with interesting shapes. 


Cuc Phuong Rescue Center

This place is also known as the Cuc Phuong Rescue, Conservation and Development Center, which is a place to nurture and preserve many precious primate species. Visiting this place, visitors can witness many primates and gain more knowledge about this animal that is very close to humans.

Ticket price to visit Cuc Phuong forest 

You can refer to the tour ticket prices as follows:

  • Children under 5 years old: Free of charge
  • Child : 10,000 VND/person
  • Student: 20,000 VND/person
  • Adult: 60,000 VND/person

Note: Students need to present their student ID card to enjoy the preferential price policy. The above price is the price of admission to the National Park, not including the cost of other services such as car rental, boat ride, meals, and tour guide hire. 


Visiting Cuc Phuong forest, visitors certainly cannot ignore the famous delicious dishes of this place such as: hill chicken, Muong pork, mountain goats or mountain snails, roasted grasshoppers...


Currently, with a relatively complete infrastructure, tourists can stay right in Cuc Phuong forest. Garden Gate with room rates ranging from 350,000 - 1,000,000 VND/room. Mac Lake Area with a campfire space, attractive outdoor dining for large groups of people with room rates from 350,000 - 600,000 VND/room/day. Or CBD located in the national park including stilt houses and detached apartments from 450,000 to 700,000 VND/room/day. In each area, there are traditional stilt houses, the price is only from 1,200,000 - 1,500,000 VND/house/day.
