Explore Be Ly Son Island - Maldives of Vietnam

Translated by Bing
Located about 3 nautical miles from Lon Ly Son Island - the central area of the island district, Be Island still retains its peaceful, rustic features, and is an attractive destination for tourists.

Be Island (also known as An Binh Island, Bo Bai Island) is an island commune in Ly Son District, Quang Ngai Province. This place has an area of 0.69 km2, only more than 100 households live.

Visitors can travel by high-speed canoe from Lon Island to Be Island. Travel time is about 10 minutes - 15 minutes (depending on the weather) with a cost of 100,000 - 120,000 VND/person/round-trip. If you go in a group, you can rent a private canoe for 2.5 - 3 million VND/day.

Trains from Ly Son port to Be island depart from 7 am to 11:20 am daily, each trip is about 20 minutes apart. Boats return from Be Island at 10 am - 2:30 pm daily.

Compared to Lon Island, Little Island still has few accommodation and dining services, but it retains its wild and peaceful features. The beaches around the island are blue like pearls, crystal clear, and stretches of white sand. The waters here are favored by tourists and are likened to the "Maldives of Vietnam".

Back Beach is the most popular destination here. The beach is small but the water is clear, the bottom can be seen. In addition to swimming, visitors can dive to see corals, climb kayaks, ride basket boats around the island... with a price of about 100,000 - 150,000 VND/hour/person.

Another beach that is popular with many tourists on the island is Coconut Beach. In this area, the water surface is blue, the waves are rolling. On the coast are rocks that have been volcanic sediments for millions of years.

In the past few years, people on the island have started to do tourism with homestays, rustic motels, with architecture in harmony with the natural scenery. The old walls on the island have also been replaced with frescoes about nature and coastal fishermen.

Life on Be Island is idyllic and rustic. The small houses are located facing the sea. People mainly live by fishing, growing vegetables, onions and garlic.

Note:

Ly Son island district consists of 3 islands: Cu Lao Ré (Lon island), An Binh island commune (Be island) and Mu Cu island.

The ideal time to explore this island district is from April to August every year, when it is sunny, there is little rain, and the sea is calm. From September to December, this island district begins the rainy season, heavy storms and rough seas, many trains to the island have to be suspended, and tourism activities have also stopped. From the end of December to April of the following year, Ly Son has an impressive green moss season.

The travel time from Lon Island to Be Island is only 15 minutes, but the waves in this area are quite large, so visitors are prone to getting drunk. Visitors should prepare more anti-motion sickness medication. And especially pay attention to the time when the canoe returns to Big Island so as not to miss the trip.
