Hon Tai, the jade-colored 'jewel' of Vinh Hy Bay

Translated by Bing
Located in one of the most beautiful bays in Vietnam, Hon Tai possesses unspoiled beauty. With white sandy beaches, bumpy cliffs and clear blue sea water that has not been exploited much in terms of tourism, Hon Tai is a newly discovered point of Ninh Thuan waters.

Hon Tai (also known as Hon Rua beach) is located in Vinh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province. This is a small beach in Vinh Hy Bay, Ninh Thuan province.

Move

From Saigon, in the direction of Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao highway to Vinh Hy, it takes about 5 and a half hours. Then, here, you rent a canoe to Hon Tai for 200,000 VND per trip (ticket price divided by the number of people), it takes about 15 minutes.

Visiting and playing on the beach need to be observed to ensure safety and rescue in case of emergency. If tourists want to scuba dive, there is an instructor and diving equipment rental, so it is quite safe and convenient, Tai said.

Location

Stepping on Hon Tai, the first impression of the beach is that it is shielded, surrounded by cliffs, forming a separate area. In addition to the blue sea and white sand, there is also a turquoise natural swimming pool, clear and cool water, suitable for lying down and relaxing.

Exploring Hon Tai at around 9 am is the most suitable time, when the sun is harmonious, not harsh, windy, the water level is not too high and the turquoise color is clearly visible. At that time, just standing in one place could take beautiful photos, bringing the atmosphere of the sea.

Ninh Thuan is affected by a typical monsoon tropical climate, dry and hot all year round. Around October - December is the rough sea season, and around February - May is the most beautiful time of the sea. In summer, there are some times when waves are big but only last for about 5-10 days. Therefore, before coming here, visitors should carefully check the weather forecast.

Hon Tai still retains its original wild features. There are no people living here, no electricity, phone waves or wifi.

The scenery of Hon Tai beach is beautifully colored by nature when viewed from above. The yellow-brown rapids are surrounded by jade-blue water, adding to the white color of the sand. There are quite a few trees on the beach, but the air is fresh, the sea and the sky are deep blue in the sunshine and wind of Ninh Thuan.

Activity

There are two main experiences here: bathing and scuba diving. The crystal clear sea water is reminiscent of Gili, a sea paradise in Indonesia. You should prepare swimming and diving equipment such as goggles, snorkels, propellers. If not available, visitors can also rent a diving tour for 200,000 VND.

Thanks to the rare clarity, the view under the sea of Hon Tai can be up to 4 m. The waves are quite calm and there are no offshore currents, and there are supervisors, so it is quite safe. However, the scuba diving experience was not as Tai expected.

Hon Tai seabed has quite a lot of rocks, few coral reefs and most of them are dead corals. Luckily, under the sunlight shining from above on the seabed pulling into rays, it is easy to admire schools of small fish swimming back and forth.

Visitors can spend more time on Hon Tai island to walk on the cliffs, soak in the clear, cool lake, enjoy the beach party under the temporary canopy built at the beach. However, this area cannot camp overnight because the water rises when the tide is high, the beach is located far from the shore, it is not safe, Visitors can camp at inshore beaches such as Bai Tung, Bai Chuan. At night, the sky is full of stars, and the sunrise rising from the sea also makes witnesses feel satisfied.
