About 180 km from Hanoi, Moc Chau district, there are about 1,300 hectares of plums. From late January to mid-February every year is the plum blossom season, attracting tourists from all over the world to enjoy the scenery, take photos and camp, according to the Moc Chau district web portal.
The two valleys with the largest and most visited plum growing area in Moc Chau are Na Ka and Mu Nau. Tourists who come in a family group or have elderly people and children often choose Na Ka because this valley is easy to move, many plum orchards on both sides of the road, convenient for sightseeing.
Plums in Na Ka are often planted in rows, large trees, flowers bloom evenly and there are many clothing rental shops for tourists to create the most satisfactory photos.
For adventurous people, who like the scenery of rocky mountains and plateaus, and young people often choose Mu Nau valley to experience. Mu Nau is not easy to walk, the road with many dangerous steep passes is not for people with weak steering and is only suitable for cars under 7 seats with a high chassis. There is also a motorbike taxi service that takes you into the valley if you are not confident and steady.
Plum blossoms in Mu Nau are considered to bloom more evenly than Na Ka, covering the whole valley whitely. Plums here are planted along hillsides, mountain slopes, combined with mossy stone slabs, gray-white ancient stone cliffs to create a romantic scene.
The plum blossom season in Moc Chau usually lasts about two weeks, depending on the weather and humidity situation, the blooming time can vary from year to year.
Not only coming to take photos during the day with a ticket price to enter the garden about 20,000 to 30,000 VND, many families also camp overnight at the garden to see flowers and have new experiences. The rental price of a tent during the day is about 150,000 - 200,000 VND, overnight rental costs 250,000 - 300,000 VND.
The road to the plum orchards has many slippery sections due to fog and high humidity. Visitors should choose the time to visit between 9 am and 4 pm, do not go too early because the morning dew has not dissipated and go too late will not be sunny to take beautiful pictures. Visitors should bring warm clothes, socks, and towels to keep warm because the daytime temperature in Moc Chau ranges from 12-17 degrees Celsius.
