When dawn rises, the jet-black rocks are covered with the brilliant yellow of the sun's rays at the beginning of the day. And when the sunset falls, the red glow of the afternoon light dyes the stones pink. Therefore, each moment in Da Dian rapids will bring visitors different emotions. And it would be great if visitors could set foot on each stone and experience the cool feeling under their feet when each wave of the sea rushes against the rocky outcrop, throwing white foam.
According to geological experts, Da Dian rapids were formed from volcanic eruptions. The lava flow is hot when it encounters the cold heat of the frozen seawater, forming unique rock slabs on the coast of Tuy An district.
Da Dian rapids are about 50 m wide and stretch more than 200 m, is one of the beautiful landscapes of Phu Yen. From above, you can see the sea encroachment area with hexagonal face stones, tightly attached to each other like a giant piece of beeswax at regular intervals, creating a solid whole with glossy black color. This particular rapids area was formed when the volcano poured lava into the sea. The hot lava flow meets the cold sea and freezes, along with the phenomenon of stress transfer, so the entire lava block is multi-dimensional fractured, creating an interesting landscape today.
Da Dian rapids are a collection of prismatic stone pillars arranged next to each other, one connecting the other next to the waves. The rocks spread out close to each other, sharing a mysterious black color. There are vertical pillars, some pillars are tilted but still piled up in layers that look like stacks of dishes and dishes, so it is called Ghenh Da Dia. From a distance, Ghenh Da looks like a giant natural beehive that is extremely magnificent.
