Da Dia rapids, a "unique" natural heritage in Vietnam

Translated by Bing
Da Dian rapids were formed from volcanic eruptions. The lava flow is hot when it meets the cold heat of the frozen seawater, forming unique rock slabs on the coast of Tuy An district, Phu Yen province.

Da Dian rapids or Da Dia rapids are located in An Ninh Dong commune, Tuy An district of Phu Yen province. From Tuy Hoa city along National Highway 1A to the north for about 30 km, to Chi Thanh town, turn right to the east for about 12 km to Da Dia rapids. You can also take the coastal route from Tuy Hoa to Da Dian rapids about 35 km long.

Da Dian rapids are about 50 m wide and stretch more than 200 m, is one of the beautiful landscapes of Phu Yen. From above, you can see the sea encroachment area with hexagonal face stones, tightly attached to each other like a giant piece of beeswax at regular intervals, creating a solid whole with glossy black color. This particular rapids area was formed when the volcano poured lava into the sea. The hot lava flow meets the cold sea and freezes, along with the phenomenon of stress transfer, so the entire lava block is multi-dimensional fractured, creating an interesting landscape today.

After hundreds of years of climate change, the waves of the sea are still diligently tossing white foam on the pristine rapids. The rapids are stacked high and low and you can easily get close to the edge of the sea, where the waves crash, to see the panoramic view of the beautiful blue sea. Going deep down the rapids, I came across a cave deep in the foot of the mountain, foaming white. In the distance is Bang beach with clear water printed with clouds and sky. When you walk around this magnificent natural spot, you will discover things that seem familiar but are very interesting here. These are small creatures hiding in the hollows of the rapids. There are moss, seaweed, shrimp, fish, crabs, and sometimes even jellyfish and starfish that follow the tidal waves drifting here.

During a visit to Da Dia rapids, you should spend time visiting the ancient Mang Lang church at the beginning of the entrance, walking slowly through peaceful villages and catching the splendid winds blowing non-stop from the top of Da Dia rapids.

You can also run to Bang Beach to swim and enjoy delicious seafood at a low price. A little food to bring allows you to have a picnic right on the rocks along the rapids and don't forget to clean up right after. The wild but impressive Da Dian rapids with the interesting shape of nature, one of the tourist attractions worth visiting in Phu Yen province.
