Peaceful Old Man on a rocky plateau

Translated by Bing
Du Gia appears like a picture with four mountains, stretching corn fields and winding streams.

Du Gia is a highland commune in Yen Minh district, about 70 km from Ha Giang city. On the Ha Giang tourism map , Du Gia appears with a wild picture, not known to many Vietnamese tourists. Visitors to Du Gia are mostly backpacking enthusiasts, who like to conquer adventurous passes... On the way to Du Gia, visitors will pass through the hills to enjoy the scenery of the valley of Lung Ho commune, Yen Minh district.

The roadside scenery appears like a movie projected through the doorway, sometimes a small village under a valley surrounded by rice, corn, or high mountains towering in the clouds.

The road from Meo Vac district to Du Gia is about 80 km long with winding and winding roads. In which, the 26 km section of Meo Vac - Sung Trai is quite arduous. On a drizzling day, the road in front is sometimes white, the car has to run very slowly to keep it safe.

After a long journey, visitors can rest at a homestay in Coc Pang village, Du Gia. The homestay is quite comfortable with dormitory bedrooms, double rooms, bungalows....

In the afternoon, it is a gentle trekking around the village, to Tham Luong waterfall, about 3 km from the homestay. On the road, corn fields stretched out on the top of high mountains and lush vegetation after the early rains.

The trekking path leads through houses with wooden walls, thatched roofs, and the sidewalks are lined with dry firewood piled up in large bundles and stone walls surround it. In front of the house, the children in the village gather in groups to play. Every time they see tourists, they wave their hands, smile brightly, and some children even say "Hello".

After wading through the stream, crossing flax gardens, corn fields, slippery dirt roads, etc., the sound of the stream is closer to the ears. On the side of the road, a white stream crept into the picturesque scenery.

The white foam of Tham Luong Waterfall is a stop that everyone who comes to Du Gia should experience.

The waterfall has a section of calm water, the flow is not too fast. Many families often bring young children here to take a cool bath and play in the water.

After a good night's sleep, visitors can get up early to walk around Coc Pang village before saying goodbye to Du Gia. The scene is reminiscent of the lines of poems in the poem "The House of Fathers" by Nguyen Thai Van: "The mountain stays with the clouds / The sun follows the city / The sound of the stream fades behind the trees...".
