Cao Bang is a province with many beautiful passes of Vietnam, such as the 15-storey Khau Coc Cha pass, the 7-storey Ma Phuc pass. Among the passes in Cao Bang, Na Teng Pass with 20 bends is less mentioned.
On the road from Ha Giang to Cao Bang, through Khau Coc Cha Pass, about 15 km is Na Teng Pass. Na Teng Pass is located in Can Nong commune, Ha Quang district, bordering Xuan Truong commune, Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province.
Different from the overwhelming feeling of Khau Coc Tra Pass with 15 vertical passes like steps on a steep cliff, Na Teng Pass has a more comfortable slope and winds softly like a silk strip. Interspersed with 20 bends are terraced fields, corn fields halfway up the mountain. Backpackers can both conquer the pass and enjoy the natural scenery of Cao Bang on 4 sides.
Na Teng Pass is quite beautiful and flat, suitable for both cycling or motorbike experience. Experience Na Teng Pass in the downhill direction, although it is not laborious, but it is more dangerous than the uphill direction. Although the bend is not urgent, because you have to turn 20 times continuously, you need to be careful and avoid going on a rainy day because the road is slippery.
The most beautiful time to experience Na Teng Pass is around September - October, when the golden season comes on the terraced fields, dots of yellow colors interspersed among the green of mountains and forests. Tourists and backpackers can also come here around May - July, when the corn fields cover both sides of the pass with a fresh green color.
