About 80 km from the center of Dong Ha city, the area of Huong Quan hydropower lake, Huong Tan commune, Huong Hoa district, these days attracts many photographers and visitors who come to see the forest after the leaf changing season. From a distance, the following forests grow on the hilltops, along the Huong Quan hydropower plant changes the color of leaves to create an impressive and colorful scene.
The latter is a large light-loving, strongly regenerating tree. This plant also has many other names such as white worm, maple, white symbiotic, brass... widely distributed in the northern provinces. Many of the following trees located close to the Òa Quan hydropower lake were flooded but still changed their leaves normally, with red and yellow colors standing out among the green trees.
According to locals, from mid-December to about the end of January is the period when the following trees change color, then fall. The colorful trees growing along the shores of the lake are called incense maple, also known as sauwu or white symbiotic. At the change of seasons, the leaves are orange, red, when the sun shines, the latter stands out in a corner of the forest. In Khe Sanh town, this plant grows abundantly near the Quang Tri hydropower lake area.
The area around the Huong Quan hydropower lake with cool air is the gathering place of thousands of plants after that.
The latter forest stands out in the middle of the Truong Son forest through western Quang Tri. According to oriental medicine books, parts of the latter tree including fruits, leaves, roots, resin are also used as medicine, which has the effect of supporting toothache, rash, urticaria ... From above, the latter forest is easy to identify compared to other tree species.
To reach the following forest, visitors follow West Ho Chi Minh Street heading from Khe Sanh town into Huong Phung commune. In addition to the following forest, visitors can visit the Year of Bugalow in Huong Phung commune, hunt clouds from the hills with wind power, visit Ta Son airport.
