Day 1: Suoi Tau Grassland - Ban Phung
Hoang Su Phi is about 300 km from Hanoi, the travel time is about five hours. However, the road to Hoang Su Phi from Tan Quang is being repaired, tourists change the direction of the Hanoi - Lao Cai highway through Bac Ha to enter Hoang Su Phi. The distance is about 80 km longer but more convenient.
Have lunch at Pho Lu, Bao Thang district, Lao Cai. There are many restaurants to choose from, depending on your needs. Some suggestions: Hieu Giap restaurant, Hai Huyen, with dishes such as black chicken soup, armpit pig, river fish. After that, tourists continue to Xin Man town to go to Phung village. For about two years, Suoi Thao steppe, Coc Pai town, Xin Man district has become a favorite destination, likened to the "miniature Switzerland" of Ha Giang because of its poetic and peaceful appearance. Each season, the steppe has different colors. Spring, yellow mustard flowers, summer is the green color of corn fields, rice fields, meadows and September-October is the time when the pink and white color of buckwheat flowers is mixed with rows of sand trees.
Overnight at a homestay in Phung village. This is the place that owns the most beautiful terraced fields in Hoang Su Phi, one of the must-visit destinations in Ha Giang. Ban Phung commune is located about 30 km from the center of Hoang Su Phi district. The people here are mainly the La Chi ethnic group with many unique cultural features that are still quite intact.

Day 2: Discover the beauty of Phung village
Dawn is the most beautiful time in Phung village. Visitors can both watch the terraced fields while admiring the sea of clouds, the air is also fresh and pleasant. Wake up around 5 a.m., which is said to be the most beautiful time.
After breakfast, visitors spend time walking, or riding a motorbike into Na Léng village to reach the "Heart of Ban Phung". On the way, visitors discover more unique cultural features and lifestyles of the La Chi people.

Move to Ban Luoc. This is one of the three most beautiful terraced fields in Hoang Su Phi, after Phung village. Guests can order lunch at the restaurant with panoramic views of the terraced fields. An indispensable dish is field carp.
Go to Chieu Lau Thi mountain , which is likened to the "muse" of Tay Con Linh (2,402 m high) located in Ho Tau commune. Currently, the concrete road is convenient for traveling by car and motorbike to the top.
To stay overnight, visitors can camp or rent a place to sleep at Uncle Phu's homestay, priced at 120,000 VND per person. A serving of rice costs 150,000 VND, and the service of bathing with tobacco leaves is about 100,000 VND. Visitors should contact to order rice in advance, especially the grilled chicken with mac knot seeds with the flavor of Ha Giang's mountains and forests.

Day 3: Cloud hunting
Coming to Chieu Lau Thi without hunting clouds is considered an incomplete trip. From the homestay point of Uncle Phu's house, visitors move about a kilometer to reach the stop to climb to the top of Chieu Lau Thi.
"When climbing, you should bring water or snacks. The climb is quite easy because there have been stairs recently. The travel time is about 30-40 minutes one way," Mr. Hai said. Return to the homestay for breakfast.
"Backpacking" in Hoang Su Phi in particular and the Northern mountainous areas in general, visitors will spend quite a lot of time traveling. Therefore, through each stage, rest enough to regain strength and then continue moving.

Day 4: Sunrise at Nam Hong Horseshoe
The experience of catching field carp and enjoying fish dishes is an indispensable activity during this golden season. The model of fish and rice farming is a popular method. Fish eat pests that damage rice, scoop up mud, kill weeds and dispose of manure to make rice good, people fertilize rice will supplement fish feed. Visitors need to prepare for good health because the journey to Vinh Quang is quite arduous. Book in advance to make sure your trip is complete. When coming to Phung village, the places with buffalo horns on the ground, which are the ancestral graves of the La Chi people, should be avoided and not curious to find out.
