Hong Quang 2 village in Cao Bang has a traditional profession of making dried noodles. In recent years, five-color dried vermicelli making establishments have gradually become unique check-in points, attracting visitors to take photos and buy vermicelli as gifts.
Dried vermicelli is made from locally grown dwarf fetal rice and "dyed" with all-natural ingredients such as corn, moringa leaves, pea flowers, carnation leaves or gac fruit... Called "five-color vermicelli" but actually dried vermicelli can have many colors, each natural ingredient gives a different noodle color, making visitors excited when they first witness it.
Dried vermicelli is easy to cook and process into many dishes. When cooked, the yarn is both chewy and deliciously soft.
