Amazing view, friendly staff but the stay was NOT as relaxing as I thought it would!
We booked everything through Tonkin Travel (Xuan Dieu, Tay Ho).
The trip started with an exhausting almost 5-hr journey to the hotel. Why? We were not informed that we had to share a tiny car with two other strangers (they were caught off guard as well!), this was disappointing most especially because we were told that we will be taken there by a spacious van - but that s just the start!
We had, I believe, the nicest suite in the whole area (with the view of the rice terraces and the infinity pool - which was awesome and even close to the restaurant). However, what comes with the view was the fact that many guests (all locals, during our stay) will go to the area even before 6 in the morning. Nothing wrong with enjoying a good sunrise view and taking pictures EXCEPT they were loud and noisy. This did not only happen in the morning, but also in the evening which made it hard to relax and sleep early.
Not to mention, there were also karaoke nights which made our stay even uncomfortable and in my opinion, it did not suit the atmosphere of the place. When we told the management about this, they apologized but then again recommended and told us that the next time we go, "we should book on week days".
We appreciate all the apologies, but I truly hope the management address these concerns immediately or they will lose a good number of foreign/expat guests!
