Built in 1885 during the most golden period of Hoi An port land, the Cantonese Assembly Hall has a pedestal, majestic appearance and still retains its characteristic beauty after all this time worn down by time.
This place has become a special Hoi An tourist destination thanks to the storage of many ancient artifacts of historical value, along with the spiritual festivals on Nguyen Tieu Day (15/01 Lunar calendar) and Quan Cong astral day (24/06 Lunar calendar) attracting a lot of participants.

Thought the Pagoda was one of the better things in Ancient town just behind the traditional art performance.

This is another wonderfully detailed pagoda at the east end of Tran Phu and this time the entrance is free. Inside the layout is very similar to others in the town with wonderful statues and carvings, some glass protected, before reaching the shrine. This is then wonderfully enlightened with large colourful lanterns. To the rear, across a small courtyard area, is a further building again of great architectural design. Wander around and see the large bell and oriental scripts whilst the beautiful plants bring it all to life. There are better shrines and pagodes within the old town but if you re like me and you wish to see as much as possible then this one will not disappoint.
