Nha Trang Dam Market

As we have already bought the famous cashew nuts from the night market, we didn t ask for the price of them, but I believe they should be cheaper here as there are like 20+ shops selling them while in the night market only around 5.

So our main purpose was not to buy these nuts or dried seafood but to find the Vietnamese traditional cake bánh phu thê. We wanted to buy it in Hanoi but they only have it in a small village 45 min from the city, and we were told by a local we could find it in the Dam market. We arrived in the afternoon and asked a few locals with the help of google translator, and all of them pointed to the direction of the back of the walkway in the Dam market building selling food but also told us they only opened in the morning, from 7-9am. As we have been longing so much to buy it, we decided to come back the next day in the morning. We arrived at around 8am the next morning and found it!!! The traditional one wrapped in bamboo leaves were almost sold out, only 6 left, but luckily they also have another variation, which still had stock! They wrapped it in plastic individually. We were simply overjoyed!!! They tasted very nice, not too sweet and very chewy, can be kept for 5 days max.
