Chiêm ngưỡng toàn bộ các tác phẩm hội họa của Việt Nam, đủ các thể loại chất liệu. Lịch sử hội họa nước nhà được thể hiện trong các tác phẩm, được bảo tàng lưu giữ cẩn thận. Rất gần Quốc tủ Giám, nên có thể tìm hiểu cả lịch sử Hà Nội, và văn hóa hội họa Việt Nam.

Ngay bên kia đường từ Văn Miếu. Có rất nhiều tác phẩm nghệ thuật khác nhau, từ chạm khắc cũ đến tranh hiện đại. Có ba cấp độ cho phòng trưng bày và thật dễ dàng để dành một vài giờ ở đây. Các dấu hiệu xung quanh bảo tàng có thể rõ ràng hơn một chút và một số tác phẩm trưng bày có thể sử dụng một chút sạch sẽ nhưng nếu không thì quá đủ để xem và giữ cho bản thân bạn giải trí.
