Bai Dinh Ninh Binh Pagoda

Not only is the famous spiritual landmark located in the population of Trang An ecotourism area, Bai Dinh Pagoda is also over 1,000 years old. This place is associated with the history of the land of Ninh Binh from the Ding Dynasty of Tien Le and the Ly dynasty. Becoming a typical place for Vietnamese temple architecture with many familiar symbols such as a curved roof shaped like a bladehead, a comedy nose tile roof, dragon-style decorative stone steps in the Ly period ... Ninh Binh is located right on the axis of National Highway 1A, extremely convenient to travel both by road or rail. From the center of Ninh Binh, you go about 20km to Bai Dinh Pagoda. Bai Dinh Pagoda consists of 2 areas: Bai Dinh Ancient Pagoda (about 27ha) and Bai Dinh Pagoda (about 80ha) with many ancient and modern architectures bearing the hallmarks of Vietnamese Buddhism. The ancient Bai Dinh Pagoda was built by zen master Nguyen Minh not more than 1000 years ago in the Ly period. The ancient pagoda is located entirely on Mount Dinh in Gia Sinh commune, Gia Vien district. Nowadays, the ancient temple area remains relics such as Bright Cave - Dark Cave, St. Nguyen Temple, Cao Son Temple, Ngoc Well ... Bai Dinh Pagoda has been expanded since 2003 with an area of more than 80ha with many works such as bell tower, La Han corridor, Di Da Buddha statue,... One of the attractions not to be missed when visiting Bai Dinh Pagoda is the La Han corridor with 234 pavilions connected to the two ends of Tam Quan. The corridor is up to 1052m long with 500 La Han statues crafted by artisans of Ninh Van stone village from monolithic blue stone. Each Arhat statue has a different appearance and posture, signifying the ups and downs, the resentment of human beings on earth. As of now, it remains the longest L.A. corridor in Asia on record.
