Exciting experience in Tra Que vegetable village, Hoi An

Translated by Bing
Located in Cam Ha commune, Tra Que vegetable village is about 3.5 km from Hoi An city center. With a green space and filled with fragrance, this is a place for those who want to change the wind, temporarily away from the busy streets.

The aroma is strong, the of basil vegetables, green onions,... blending together makes those who have wandered among the vegetable fields of Tra Que wonder.

In the morning, the vegetable village space is clear and pure. Birds chirp. Adults go to the fields, children ride bikes to school. In the afternoon, the sun pours on the leaves to welcome cool droplets, shimmering in the sun. These are the most suitable times for you to have a walk or bike around the vegetable village to enjoy the fresh air and rush into this space reminiscent of childhood.

In particular, coming to Hoi An, it is impossible not to enjoy Tra Que vegetables in flavorful dishes of Quang such as Quang noodles, cao lau, mussels mixed with Cam Nam ... Tra Que vegetables go from vegetable beds into idyllic rustic dishes, famous for being delicious. Hoi An people are still proud that this is the best vegetable in Vietnam.

Previously, in the land along the Que Vo River, the Tra Que people lived by fishing nets. Gradually, people realized that the soil and climate are suitable for greens. Sandy loam, mild and cool riverine climate provided with water all year round are favorable conditions for greens to grow. They started growing vegetables and have maintained them for more than 300 years.

Every day, Tra Que farmers go to collect algae in Tra Que lagoon to make fertilizer for vegetables. Therefore, Tra Que vegetables, which are already clean by growing on sandy soil, have a special aroma thanks to the source of nutrients.

When the source of algae runs out, the Tra Que people still use manure to fertilize vegetables. Despite modern life, people still use manual farming methods with a closed process, without using chemicals to create delicious products and protect the environment.
