Hoang Lien National Park is not only famous for the poetic villages of highland people, Fansipan peak or the impressive O Quy Ho pass, it is also known as the "Azalea Kingdom of Vietnam". Because every late spring in the 4th month, the moldy dry branches of the forest trees climbing on the cliff as if growing from the vitality of heaven and earth burst out with flowers. Clusters of pink rhododendrons covered the enchanting mountains and forests.
Azaleas bloom the most at an altitude of 2200m. Fansipan Peak is home to many of the most beautiful ancient rhododendrons. Unlike the fragile and delicate banana flower, the azalea flower possesses a beauty full of vitality mixed with a little strong, powerful with haughty colors.
Proud, vibrant azaleas beautify the mountainous landscape of the Northwest. The azalea viewing season on Fansipan peak will last from 4 to 7 months and is always the most anticipated time of the year.
On the trekking routes of Fansipan peak, you can encounter 300-400 years old rhododendron trees. Rhododendrons at this height have very few young branches, from the time they sprout to the time they grow tall they tend to jostle vertically towards the sky to catch the light.
The road to the top of Fansipan is considered an extremely poetic route, when circling the mountains with thousands of azaleas blooming on both sides of the road.
In addition to trekking forest roads, you can take a cable car to the top of Fansipan to enjoy the feeling of flying through majestic mountains and forests, watching the scenery on the Hoang Lien range and right in the middle of the green carpet of the forest are carpets of azaleas of all colors, from red, pink, yellow, purple to white.
At the top of the mountain, yellow and red flower rhododendrons are concentrated in Luohan Road, the area of the Bodhisattva Guanyin statue and on the way to the 3143m high peak, around the area of Jinshan Bao Thang Tu ... In particular, the cylindrical rhododendron variety (red flower) with an age of more than 300 years is extremely rare.
