Although the trekking route of Sa Mu - U Bo peak has only been much interested by tourists this year, anyone who sets foot here is amazed by the magical scenery and diverse vegetation. Especially, for genuine climbers, the primeval beauty of Samu forest is incomparable. Many people also favor, calling this one of the most beautiful trekking routes in Vietnam.

According to the website of Bac Yen district, Sa Mu - U Bo peak has an altitude of 2,890 m above sea level, located in the Ta Xua special use forest, which has just been planted in December 2022. Ngoc Linh (28 years old, HCMC) HCMC), just conquered Sa Mu peak at the end of November, assessing that this trekking course is quite easy, especially for people who have just embarked on trekking like her. "Compared to Liangzi White Jupiter Mountain, Nam Kang Ho Tao in Lai Chau, Samu Peak is much easier to breathe. Talking about the scene, each place is very unique," Ngoc Linh said.

Ta Xua special use forest has abundant natural resources. Mr. Nguyen Trong Cung, (31 years old, Thai Binh), who just returned from trekking on Sa Mu peak on 9/12, said that he is an alumnus of the Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy (Hanoi), in the process of learning to interact with many plants and medicinal herbs, when arriving in the forest he was like "fish meets water". The beauty of the forest could not help but make him admire and delight. "I recognize quite a few medicinal herbs through their shapes and flowers. As a long-time climber, plus having experienced many ups and downs in life, I thought nothing would surprise me anymore. This thought was wrong when I set foot in Samu forest," he shared.

On the way to Samu peak, Trong Cung identified many precious medicinal herbs. These are bone jelly (supports the digestive system, nerves,...), bear bile, rice bark grass, contemporary plant. Some edible types such as forest na, wild kiwi, forest climbing lemon, wild grapes. In addition, in the forest, there are some flowers or plants used as spices such as anise, azalea flowers, begonias, pipe grass, primrose, often paint, purple berries, telescopes ... and many red-leaved maples.

For hiking, especially trekking, every step is an impact on nature. "The management board of Ta Xua forest does not clearly communicate how to preserve vegetation, but I think the act of picking flowers and breaking leaves is not advisable. If a passing person breaks a flower, then what is left of the forest. I do not encourage young people to cut down trees to dry, then roast pigs whole, this is very resource-intensive," Cung shared. Young people who go hiking, whether self-sufficient or in groups, should self-consciously act in the green forest. In addition, porters (guides, usually locals) can actively remind members to pick up trash along the way, cigarette filters.

Guests participating in the climb should be equipped with multi-pocket trousers. The goal is to store as many garbage bags as possible, both on the road and picking up trash. Drinking water should be put in a personal container, not bottled.
