Conquering Bidoup - the roof of Lam Vien Plateau

Translated by Bing
Located at an altitude of 2,287 m, Bidoup peak belongs to Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park, Da Nhim commune, Lac Duong district and part of Dam Rong district of Lam Dong province.

Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park covers an area of more than 64,000 hectares, is one of 28 national parks located in the system of special-use forests of our country, especially one of the four most biodiversity centers in Vietnam. Today, Bidoup - Nui Ba is 50 km from the center of Da Lat city, along provincial road 723 connecting Lam Vien Plateau with the coastal city of Nha Trang.

Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park is a place with rich diverse biological resources, beautiful natural landscapes, convergence of evergreen closed forests, sparse coniferous forests, mixed broadleaf and subtropical coniferous forests, mountaintop dwarf forests, moss sub-types, etc. It will take you 2 days and one night to conquer Bidoup Peak with a distance of 27 km. There are two main climbing directions: one from the Bidoup ranger station, the other from the K'Long K'Lanh station on Hon Giao Pass (also known as Khanh Le Pass, Long Lanh, Omega Pass).

If you choose the starting direction from the ranger station, the first day of the journey will last 17 km and pass through the outer area, buffer zone and core area of the national forest, which is characterized by coniferous pine forests, broadleaf mixed forests and subtropical coniferous forests. This is a trekking route through the most beautiful pine forest in our country, with the green color of the pine trees. The day one night campsite is located at an altitude of 2,000 m above sea level, where the two types of forest intersect and 3 km from the top of Bidoup.

Day two will include a distance of 3 km to the top and 7 km to the altitude descent to K'Long K'Lanh station. The terrain here is characterized by an evergreen closed forest, a combination of mountain top dwarf forests, mossy sub-forests, etc.

Biodiversity is most evident in this 10 km distance. There are 1,468 species of plants present in Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park, of which 62 rare species are distributed in 29 different plant families, the most valuable is the ancient Po mu tree more than 1,300 years old.

The milestone marks the height of 2,287 m of Bidoup Peak. Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park is a rare primeval forest in Vietnam, which is very strictly conserved, especially almost free of garbage. Therefore, you must contact the Forest Management Board in advance to buy an exploration tour, under the guidance of professional rangers and porters.
