The Vuong family mansion (also known as the Cat King's Palace) is located in the Sa Phin Valley, from Dong Van town (Ha Giang) about 15km. This is a large work built at the end of the nineteenth century with a combination of architecture of many cultures.
The mansion is built in a mound in the shape of a turtle shell, surrounded by high mountains, ensuring the elements of feng shui, defense and solidity. The whole mansion has a total area of nearly 3,000m2 including the campus, 4 horizontal houses, 6 vertical houses and up to 3 Tien Palaces, Middle, Queen. It is estimated that the whole villa can accommodate up to 100 people with 64 rooms. The walls are paved with green stone, the roof is made of pine wood, and the top is covered with traditional yin and yang tiles. Currently, the Vuong family mansion has become an interesting place to visit for many tourist groups.
In the house, many items are still kept. In particular, the main house has a worship board for children and grandchildren to keep the fire and smoke incense.
Visitors must buy an entrance ticket of 30,000 VND/person. For large groups or depending on needs, there will be a H'Mong guide explaining the mansion. The Wang family mansion has an architecture that partially simulates the Qing Dynasty of China, combined with H'Mong patterns and French art, creating a unique cultural intersection.
The main area is the residence of the king of the Vuong family with rare beautiful architecture, converging the architectural quintessence of the highlands, showing authority and regal grandeur among the mountains and highlands. This relic is now not only the pride of the Vuong family but also a symbol of culture, history and the spirit of great solidarity on the northernmost land of Vietnam.
