Pros-Beautiful location, pristine beach, very comfortable bedroom, very attentive staff. Really loved the attention to detail and the emphasis on environmental impact and use of local resources.
The villa overall was quite nice, spacious, clean, and had many amenities. For the price, I was expecting more than just free water - mini bar was all extra. But we were given a nice welcome drink, fruit platter, and goodbye chocolate truffles.
The transport to and from the airport was top notch. Check in was welcoming, and the golf cart tour to the villa was nice. Our gem was very sweet and attentive.
Daily housekeeping and turndown service was very good. The room was always perfectly stocked, tidy and clean.
The spa was very nice. I had a facial and massage, while my partner had a full body massage. The staff was very good. But some steam or sauna time would have been nice to include as well.
Cons-
There was no ac or even fan in the bathroom/dressing room/lower half of the villa. It was unbearable on warmer days.
We paid for a 3 hr snorkeling trip and the first location they dumped us in very shallow water over coral and told us to walk on the coral (what?!?). My feet were cut up and still have huge slash wounds on my legs. Half the trip was also just spent on a rocking boat due to rain - had horrible motion sickness. The other two snorkeling locations were fine but we weren’t really given much guidance. Would have rather just done an hour long trip since we didn’t go very far.
The food was disappointing. I was expecting better from this level of resort. Flavors were more bland than what we had in Saigon. Fried rolls were super greasy. There was nothing interesting. I would suggest a smaller menu and a higher level of quality and creativity.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. But while some aspects and details exceeded our expectations, some basic elements seemed lacking in quality….and unfortunately those were things we paid extra for.
