NOIR. Dining in the Dark Saigon
Add collectionContact Information
Nestled in an alley on Hai Ba Trung Street, District 1, Noir - Dining in the Dark offers guests the experience of a meal in complete darkness. Visitors just need to relax, use their taste buds to feel the sophistication of the food and let their minds drift to the music.
Before dining, diners are asked to store bags, personal items, phones or things that may glow such as clocks and lighters in a securely locked drawer. Then came a room plunged into darkness with a visually impaired waitress.

A wonderful experience with wonderful staff and a tasting menu that would rival any other great restaurant. 3 course 11 dish or 4 course 15 dish tasting menus to choose from with dietary needs catered to.

Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Our server, Ms. Phuong was phenomenal and really made our experience great. She was kind, an excellent server, and very helpful. She was on a par with many of the most excellent fully sighted servers we have had at higher end restaurants. Dining in the dark was an eye-opening experience, if you will excuse the expression, as to the challenges of the sight impaired. Spending an hour of our lives dining without our sight was truly enlightening as to only one of the many challenges the sight impaired are faced with every day. We are blessed to return to a world where we are able to eat and see what we are eating, while others are not. We hope we remember this experience long after it is over. The food was rich in variety and provided an interesting array of flavors and textures. One note I would make is that if you have a food allergy, make sure the staff is aware of exactly what you are allergic to and be very clear about it. I have a minor food allergy and reported it to the staff; two of the staff members incorrectly identified my food allergen and had it been a worse allergy, I would have been more concerned. This is a negligible problem as clear and direct communication could easily solve it. We highly recommend this experience for anyone willing to step outside of their comfort zone and experience something impactful.
