Tham Phay Cave is likened to "Son Doong" of Ba Be district, about 2 km from the center of Hoang Tri commune. In 2016, a team of Vietnamese cavers and representatives of the Royal British Cave Society explored the Tham Phay Cave for the first time. In this limestone cave there is an underground river system, stalactites created 5 million years ago. Deep inside, at a position more than 1km from the mouth of the cave, there are two dynamic branches, the left branch is deep into the mountainside, the right branch feeds into the mountain, the water level is quite deep. The deeper you go, the more complex the terrain, the more stalactites appear. According to locals, the cave is about 5-6 km long. Currently, the cave is being assessed by the authorities so that it can be planned to be put into tourism operation. The site has not been opened to visitors.
