We spent three nights in one of the "ancient garden houses" and had booked our first night s dinner at their restaurant to check it out. We were more than satisfied... The atmosphere in the old main garden house was "imperial" - the antique structure itself, the lacquered furniture, the table setting, the art objects... They offered some set menus including the royal feast but we preferred to order à la carte. With Australian Shiraz on the wine list the question of drinks was settled in no time. And after starter and soup our main courses were served in the midst of most elaborate vegetable carvings...
It goes without saying that the service was as top-notch as the meal and for this reason (and admittedly also because of the hotel s remote location) we came back the two following nights to try as many dishes as possible (my favourite was the steamed 5-spice fish).
The restaurant is open to the public and you may have to share it with groups from outside. But as it is spacious and there is a separate room for larger events you will not feel yourself disturbed...

I took grab car to reach venue. We pre-ordered the 9-courses Royal Feast which is priced on the high side but we wanted to try the ancient Hue imperial meal. Given costume to change before dining. Venue is set in a beautiful traditional looking court house - really nice ambience. Food wise - portion too much for us, but I do see the westerner able to finish their food. Food taste - some okay some nothing to shout about.
