The nearly 100-year-old French architecture library in Quy Nhon

Translated by Bing
Quy Nhon University Library, which is a seminary, was built according to French-Vietnamese architecture since 1930, attracting students to study and check in.

Located on An Duong Vuong Street, on the coast of Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon University Library is a famous place not only for students but also for tourists and photographers.

The project was originally Quy Nhon Seminary, which was taken over by the University of Education - the predecessor of Quy Nhon University - after 1975. The building was entrusted by Bishop Tardieu to Father Dorgeville to build in 1930 to replace the Daian Archdiocese. With his knowledge and experience, Father Dorgeville planned the construction and supervised the work, which was put into use in 1932.

The project consists of two main blocks with three floors. Each building is 30 m and 27.5 m long, 12 m wide, and the chapel is in the center.

The window system is bold in Gothic style.

The ground floor area in the middle has a sophisticatedly designed column and roof system. The wooden pillars are 8 m high, the trusses are carved with patterns. Part of the interior of the ground floor house was taken from Dai An Seminary in Phu Cat and transported by water to Quy Nhon.

The two blocks on both sides stand out with a dome architecture connecting along the corridor, creating an airy space and adapting to the tropical climate.

The wood pattern is intricately carved, mounted on the sills and windowsills.

A window with an arched design and a door carved into a pattern.

The wooden door stands out on the green wall, creating a classic space, many students choose this place as a place to study and read.

The rooms and corridors use floral tiles, the colors are in harmony with the wall color to create a classic and cozy feeling.

The arch construction technique - which was unfamiliar to local workers in the early twentieth century was applied to the building.

The staircase of the library is also bold and ancient with many details made of precious wood.

The library not only serves internally but is open for outside visitors to visit and learn. This place is also the place where many young people make check-in photos to return to the old school.
