Translated by Bing
La Maison 1888, a Michelin-starred restaurant, located in the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort on the Son Tra Peninsula, offers French cuisine combined with local ingredients.

La Maison 1888 was awarded a star by the world-famous Michelin Guide at the announcement ceremony of the Michelin Guide 2024 Vietnam on the evening of June 27 in Ho Chi Minh City and is the first restaurant in Da Nang to receive a Michelin star.

Opened 11 years ago at the resort on the Son Tra peninsula, La Maison 1888 is the work of American "architectural wizard" Bill Bensley. The restaurant is designed like an old French mansion in Indochinese style, located in the middle of the green space of the primeval forest.

The restaurant is divided into several areas such as La Veranda with 24 seats, Buffalo Bar with 14 indoor seats, 30 outdoor seats.

The table area with a panoramic view of the kitchen so that diners can admire the processing process has 14 seats. In addition, the restaurant also owns a private room with 4 seats and 2 rooms with 12 seats.

La Maison 1888 is the first restaurant in Vietnam to collaborate with a chef who owns Michelin restaurants, first Michel Roux and then Pierre Gagnaire. The restaurant serves a seasonal menu, bringing French cuisine combining local ingredients and fresh seafood from Son Tra beach. Must-try dishes include Hokkaido-style grilled scallops, Vietnamese boiled snails rolled in Italian cannelloni tubes.

The ingredients used to prepare the dish are high-quality such as Foie Gras (fatty foie gras), a type of "brown diamond" of France. Foie Gras is one of the most expensive dishes in the world, soft and smooth, when enjoyed it does not bring a feeling of nausea like other types of foie gras. On the menu, diners can also choose salted sturgeon roe, Wagyu beef tenderloin, black truffle, grated Melanosporum. The restaurant also serves vegetarian menus, Pescatarian diet menus.

The menu director is Chef Pierre Gagnaire with a philosophy of embracing the diversity of global cuisine to enrich his creations. His love for Vietnam had a great influence on his style at the restaurant.

Accompanying Pierre Gagnaire is Chef Florian Stein (pictured), who used to cook at the famous Le Chambard restaurant in Alsace, France.

The dishes at the restaurant are paired with wines carefully selected by wine tasting expert and beverage manager Jimmy Chang (pictured). The wine cellar at the restaurant has been awarded excellence by Wine Spectator - one of the largest wine awards in the United States - for 7 consecutive years, with a variety of precious wines.

The restaurant's menu changes seasonally. Pierre Gagnaire, the original menu costs 5,000,000 VND per person; Esprit Pierre Gagnaire, 6,000,000 VND per person. The vegetarian menu also has 2 sets of similar names, which are 4,200,000 VND and 4,800,000 VND per person, respectively.

La Maison 1888 was once honored by CNN in the top 10 best restaurants in the world 2016. Architectural Digest voted the restaurant in the top 10 most beautiful restaurants in the world. The World Travel Awards awarded the restaurant the title of World's Leading Luxury Hotel Restaurant in 2017.
