Manufactured since 2009, after 15 years of roaming the Mekong River, La Marguerite yacht has become a tourist highlight on the Tien River - one of the two tributaries of the Mekong River flowing into Vietnam. The yacht stands out with its white paint color and ancient design, bold French architecture.
The yacht is three stories high, 72m long with 46 cabins, serving up to 92 guests. Mr. Dang Hieu Trung, General Director of Focus Travel - the management and operation unit of La Marguerite yachts, said that to build a yacht of such scale and quality costs about 10 million USD. The ship mainly welcomes international delegations from the US, Canada, Australia... participate in experiencing the land along the Mekong River, starting from Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City and ended in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The architecture inside the yacht is luxurious and sophisticated, decorated in yellow, brown and white tones to bring a sense of closeness and coziness to visitors. Every detail of the ship reminds you of nostalgic France from the Art Nouveau era. The main lobby of the yacht stands out with a spiral staircase, creating an impressive highlight for the space.
The name of the yacht is also reminiscent of the famous love story between Ms. Marguerite and an overseas Chinese man named Huynh Thuy Le. The two met by chance on a ferry across the Tien River and fell in love at first sight. The picture of the two people is placed in the reading room.
In the Ponagar restaurant area, large glass windows help visitors take in the view of the scenery of nature, the life of people on both sides of the Tien River and the horizontal boats.
On the cruise, visitors both explore the Mekong River and travel to relax with facilities such as: outdoor jacuzzi, outdoor bar, gym, spa, reading room,....
Early morning dawn and sunset are the times when visitors often choose to admire the lyrical western river scenery at the sundeck area. Visitors can experience many attractive Eurasian dishes and drinks, including dishes with typical flavors of the West.
Mekong River cruise tours are usually crowded from October last year to the end of March next year. The 8 days and 7 nights journey from My Tho (Vietnam) through Cai Be, Sa Dec, Tan Chau, Siem Reap, Cambodia costs from 3 to 4 thousand USD. Rates are subject to schedule and guest room class.
