Vinh Long Pottery Village

Vinh Long pottery village is located along the banks of the Co Chien river with thousands of brick kilns, pottery kilns crowded together like mushrooms after rain, stretching for tens of kilometers to form an interesting picture, looking far away like red castles in the sun. Therefore, the people of this country also named Vinh Long Pottery Village as the "red kingdom".

Vinh Long pottery has a natural red color, after firing, there is also a unique white chalk on the outside. Ceramics are strong, durable, and eye-catching colors, gradually favored by the domestic market, and attracted the attention of the international market, paving the way for export.

Tourists visiting the pottery village, in the distance, saw smoke rising. Along the provincial highway, trucks of all kinds are waiting for goods, workers are busy carrying. In the workshop, printers, coins, and scrubs work diligently. Some artisans sit and contemplate "digging the soil", looking for ideas for a new pottery model: a breakthrough, an abstract work, or a village girl with clear and holy water...

In addition, Vinh Long Pottery Village also has a unique architectural work that is almost unique in Vietnam, which is the pottery house. The whole house, from the roof, fences, reliefs, walls, to interior items such as tables, chairs, couches... are all made entirely of ceramics. Each component is fired separately, changing colors to emphasize bold and light strokes as desired, then reassembled during construction. As a result, the pottery house seems fragile, but it is solid and the colors blend together. Coming here, you will admire the talent, elaboration, and meticulousness of the potters.
