Comprising a series of abstract and figural works on newspaper and photographic paper, 'Birdsong' is Tran Trung Tin's solo exhibition in Hanoi. This is the first time that Tran Trung Tin's series of experimental abstract paintings has been introduced to Hanoi viewers. This series of paintings belongs to the first stage of his composition, born by an oil lamp, in the basement of an old house, amid a hail of bombs and bullets.
In addition to abstract works, this exhibition also introduces a series of realistic paintings created during 1972-1975 in Hanoi. Here, with 'Hanoi Em', 'My Cat', 'Venus Cam', 'Hanoi Palace'... colors and strokes are used in a completely pristine way (a "heavenly color"- Bui Xuan Pham) Tran Trung Tin recounted his sadness and loneliness in a tender way.
