Mirissa was not quite the place we expected but The Spice House was a haven away from the crowds. The owners have really done a wonderful job building villas with a couple of swimming pools in a very lush, tropical setting. The owner was English who has married a Sri Lankan lady and he clearly has an eye for design as the room was beautiful with some lovely design features. The room was one of three a short walk away from the main house and the rooms shared a kitchen and beautiful swimming pool that wrapped round a covered lounging area. We spent a lovely time in the pool watching the monkeys feeding on the trees in the extensive garden.
