The Ox not only Ox is located at the end of a small alley on Dong Du Street, District 1. Nestled in the middle of the bustling center, the restaurant chooses a discreet location just enough to make any guest feel like falling into a mysterious palace, with a large water tank and green trees in the main lobby, leading into the luxurious restaurant space inside.
Just across from the entrance is a tall bar containing a well-stocked wine collection. In the perpendicular direction is the kitchen that extends the width of the restaurant. Under the high ceiling with a large chandelier are about 30 sets of tables and chairs neatly arranged, not forgetting to decorate with a shimmering candle and fresh vases that are replaced daily. The restaurant also has a mezzanine floor with open views that can welcome people up and down through an elevator right at the entrance.
The main course menu includes meats: chicken, pork, beef, fish,... combined with very familiar ingredients of Vietnam such as basil, coriander, hash greens, ginger, lemongrass, Hoi An peppers, lotus seeds, fish sauce ,... creating the restaurant's unique fusion cuisine.

This now has to be our first choice in Ho Chi Minh!
We were looking for somewhere to have Sunday Lunch and my daughter said we should try here as it had been recommended by some of her friends. And we weren’t let down! We loved everything - the service was great, lovely settings (hidden away down an alleyway) and of course the food.
We had a mixture of dishes for starters and everything was amazing. The prawn salad was my favourite, whilst the little one loved the salmon so much she asked for two! The main course was excellent also. My son had the Wagu beef that was so tender and served with a lovely sauce, whereas my eldest daughter had the pork ribs. She said they were the most tender ribs she’s ever had and ended up using her fingers to make sure only the bones were left!!
A real gem and we all hope to be back soon!

Nice decoration but the food needs more balance. Presentation is great but chef needs to bring the flavors more together.
