We stayed here for three days in room 102. The room was brightly decorated with some slightly different aspects than expected. The bathroom was a nice size, with the usual toilet, sink and shower all in one combo. The bathroom floor was covered in pebbles which I had never seen before. In usability terms this provided a certain impracticalness with barefeet when having to have a shower, visit the toilet etc. Also there was no glass in the window of the bathroom, which was fine to hear the waves and get fresh air in, but not what you usually expect. The room was a typical size for a double. The bed was a little too hard for us, but fine for our time there. The air con worked fine, and not as loud as some units when on at night. The village awakes early, so you ll need some earplugs to block out the rooster, dogs, general noise in the early morning.
Other aspects of the room include a phone in a hanging basket, a massive TV and no remote control, tea and (3 in 1) coffee facilities but no cups, an iron but no ironing board, a fridge with beer and coke but no price list. For us we saw the funny side and enjoyed the room but for some people it may not be there kind of thing.
There is a nice area on floor 6 to relax in and look out on the views of the beach. I guess this will eventually be a bar/cafe, but it was it never staffed except when breakfast was served. Breakfast was good. A choice of Vietnamese dishes (Pho, egg noodles etc...) freshly cooked. The few staff that they have here have an eagerness to please about them that I haven t witnessed for a long time. Very smiley, friendly and helpful, though a lot of the times the language barrier can get in the way. All in all we had a fun stay at Mira, despite the slight oddities. You get the impression that as the hotel becomes more established then it will sort out some of its idiosyncrasies, but it has a certain charm that comes from the staff.
