3. Which airports are implementing Autogate?

Autogate is a new technology that has been deployed at airports in Vietnam for the first time, according to the plan of the Ministry of Public Security in the first phase from August 1, 2023, the Immigration Department will deploy the Autogate system at 2 major air border gates of our country, namely Noi Bai, By August 15, 2023, Autogate will be expanded at the border gates of Da Nang, Cam Ranh, and Phu Quoc airways.

4. Subjects and conditions for using the Autogate system (For Vietnamese citizens, and foreigners)

In the initial process of implementing the Autogate system to support automatic immigration procedures, the Immigration Department also clearly stipulates the subjects and conditions for citizens to use the Autogate system as follows:

For Vietnamese citizens:

• Every Vietnamese citizen can use Autogate to carry out immigration procedures.
• Vietnamese citizens using passports with electronic chips will not have to go through the registration procedures.
• On the contrary, in case Vietnamese citizens use passports without electronic chips, they need to successfully carry out the procedures for registering to use Autogate before using Autogate for entry.

• Conditions for Vietnamese citizens to use the Autogate system for exit:

• Use a diplomatic or official passport
• Using ABTC Cards
• Vietnamese citizens who are members of the flight crew use Autogate to perform the tasks of the flight crew

For foreigners

• In the initial test plan, foreigners are not allowed to use Autogate to enter the country, but can only use Autogate to exit the country under 2 conditions:

1. Having a temporary residence or permanent residence card issued by a competent authority in Vietnam.
2. At the same time, foreigners need to register to use Autogate.

5. The process of using the Autogate system (exit and entry)

To pass through the immigration gate with the Autogate system. passengers only need to spend about 1 minute to carry out the processes at two layers of doors.

• At the first door layer: Passengers scan the identity page on their passport and flight ticket by turning their passport and boarding pass face down into the reader. After the system successfully confirms, passengers continue to enter the 2nd door.
• At the 2nd door layer:

• First, the passenger stands in the marked position and performs the correct posture for the system to take a portrait
• Passengers then need to place their right index finger on the fingerprint reader
• The screen announces “Congratulations on a good flight and the 2nd layer of door is blurred, passengers just need to step out and continue to complete the procedure without stamping the passport.

Note, when you have problems in the steps that prevent you from carrying out the procedures, the Autogate system will appear red, the airport loading staff will come to support you immediately, rest assured.
