All Vietnamese citizens can use Autogate to enter the country. Vietnamese citizens using passports without electronic chips need to successfully apply to use Autogate before using Autogate to enter the country. Vietnamese citizens using passports with electronic chips will not have to go through registration procedures .
In the initial stage, Vietnamese citizens using Autogate to exit the country must meet one of the following conditions: use a diplomatic or official passport; use ABTC cards; Vietnamese citizens who are crew members use Autogate to perform crew duties. Vietnamese citizens who meet the above conditions must apply for Autogate registration.
For foreigners
Foreigners with temporary residence cards or permanent residence cards issued by competent authorities of Vietnam are registered to use Autogate to exit the country. Foreigners in the above categories must go through the Autogate registration procedure.
