Van Buddha Pagoda is located on Nghia Thuc Street (District 5). The temple was built in 1959 by two abbots, Venerable Tang Duc Bon and Venerable Thich Dieu Hoa.
Unlike other temples in Vietnam, the Ten Thousand Buddha Pagoda is built on an extremely unique Chinese architectural style. This is not only a place of study for monks and nuns and Buddhists but also a familiar place of spiritual and cultural activities of the Chinese community in Vietnam.
The highlight of Van Buddha Pagoda is the main hall area, also known as the Quang Minh Great Hall. The main hall is located on the 4th floor of the pagoda with a space and architecture imbued with Chinese culture. The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha is placed on the lotus platform right in the center of the main hall. The lotus platform of Buddha Shakyamuni is crafted from 1000 extremely sophisticated lotus petals.
Around the main hall are 10,000 Buddha statues arranged neatly and in line to create an extremely sacred space. The size of each Buddha statue is only as small as the palm of your hand, but it is meticulously processed. Next to each Buddha statue is also numbered and named.
Every year, there are many monks and nuns, Buddhists and tourists who come to visit the Ten Thousand Buddha Pagoda. Currently, the abbot of the Ten Thousand Buddha Pagoda is Venerable Thich Truyen Cuong, a native of Guangdong Province, China.
In addition to the main hall area, below the floors also worship other Buddhas such as the Medicine Buddha - Liu Ly Quan Nhu Lai, the Bodhisattva of the Land of Organs...
In addition, the Ten Thousand Buddhas Pagoda also has an area to send ashes to the deceased with the hope that after death, the person will be protected by the Buddha to return to the realm of bliss soon. The Ten Thousand Buddha Tower is located on the terrace of the pagoda. This is also one of the architectural highlights of this temple.
Buddhism originated in India and has become a popular religion in many countries around the world. Thereby creating diversity and richness in the cultures of countries. In recent years, Van Buddha Pagoda has become more and more known and gradually become a destination for people and tourists in early spring.
