In the highland district of Mu Cang Chai, there are 3 main markets: Kim junction market, Mu Cang Chai district market and Khao Mang market. Each market is about 20 kilometers apart along National Highway 32. In particular, Mu Cang Chai market is a place that attracts many tourists when coming to this land.
The goods brought to the market by the people are very diverse and rich. Mainly items made by them such as corn, potatoes, cassava, local products: a few bunches of vegetables, a few plums, a few bags of cat apples, a few liters of rice wine or a few bottles of wild honey...
This is not only a place to exchange goods but also has cultural and spiritual elements, a place to meet and exchange ethnic minorities.
Going to the market on the day of the festival, people and tourists will also have the opportunity to participate in folk games and compete in ethnic sports such as pushing sticks, tug-of-war, walking on stilts and playing hoop throws around the neck of the bottle, throwing balls, blindfolded drumming, etc.
